Do you know Sumo-ji?  It is one of Edomoji, Japanese lettering style. You may have seen it on Sumo wrestling advertisements and programmes in the Ryogoku Sumo Hall. However, there are few who know Sumo-ji is written by Gyoji, refrees in professional sumo wrestling. Gyoji's work is not only to referee bouts between sumo wrestlers but also to manage a lot of responsibilities in the Sumo world. This time, I asked a gyoji who cooperates with my work to write Atelier Naoko in Sumo-ji as name plate. I decorated it next to the household shrine. If you like, you can get your name in Japanese Sumoji written by Gyoji on a piece of signed fancy paper. If you request it, please send e-mail to "Contact us".
